Forbes calls engagement the emotional commitment an employee has to the organization and its goals. Gallup polls indicate that engagement rates for 2015 averaged between 31.5 percent and 32.1 percent and have been comparable for 2016.

We all want our employees to put in a little extra effort but meet the needs of the organization first. We want better margins, lower turnover and tighter teamwork.
